True to the words of the song, "Music was (or is) my First Love"
shhh.... just don't tell my long suffering husband and biggest fan!!
Music has been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember. One of my first memories is singing 'Away in a Manger' to my Mum, just before I went to sleep at night,
Throughout school, my love of music just grew and grew. I learned to play the recorder, violin, the piano and of course had singing lessons. I was a member of a variety of choirs and youth orchestras and spent most of my free time (including holidays) making music in one form or another. At this time my interest was mainly classical, I just didn't have time for 'pop' music like most teenagers.

The next step on my life's journey was to go to college to train to be a teacher of ..........you've guessed it, Music.Performance was quite a large part of college life, choral works, Gilbert and Sullivan Operettas etc.
My first teaching position was in a small town in Norfolk, here I joined everything possible and took part in many choirs and Old Time Music Halls. It was here I met my wonderful husband and we began our life's journey together. My performing then had to take a back seat as two became three, became four and then became five!! Nevertheless I was always listening and singing along to music, more up to date music this time! My offspring have not forgiven me to this day for being the cause of them knowing all the words to the 'oldies'.
Anyway, let's get back to more recent times. Somehow, by quite a meandering route, I can now be found in Northamptonshire, having returned to teaching several years ago. I hope that by the time my students leave me, they have managed to gain some understanding of music, and can appreciate their listening more.
My passion though, is performing as an entertainer. I came to this relatively recently, mainly due to the lack of opportunity and a loss of confidence ( I hadn't performed in public for years!). I know I will never be a 'pop'star, far too old for that! but I really enjoy what I do. Seeing people enjoying my singing give me a huge buzz, I just wish I could do it all the time.
Don't expect me to sound like anyone else, I don't copy other artists! It's the classical musician in me that just wont allow me to do that! I'm a musician, and proud of it, not an impersonator!
